Hi guys I originallly had my cable connection through USb but I've just changed to ethernet. When I was using USb my Gamespy ran fine but now I'm on Ethernet it crashes when I try to load games and when it crashes my whole connection fails.
I have to reset my modem and disable the enable my connection otherwise it will not do anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Im using
Windows Xp pro
Amd 2000xp
1024mb ram
Ge force 4
80 gig hard drive

Ok when I open gamespy it starts off ok most of the time it will bring up the servers sometimes it doesnt when it does it seems fine.
Sometimes I can get into a game and it will seem to work for sometimes 30 mins then it will just freeze and dissconect from the gamespy server.
When that happens if I try to open Internet explorer it just says detecting proxy settings at bottom of page and it wont find any pages so I have to disable my connection then unplug my modem for 2 mins then reset it then my connection works.
If I use my usb setting for my modem gamespy works fine but I want to use ethernet coz its faster and my gamescube and xbox use it.
