Before, when I ran under Win98SE and shut down, it was off directly, and was not necessary press power button. But now, with Win Xp pro., I have to press power button to disconnect the power suply, and I don't change any hardware and any jumper at the main board jet.
Can any one tell me where's the secret?
And, "Suspend mode" is not accesible, or I think, 'cause I can't see it any where...

It is because APCI was off when you installed XP. You must have installed standard Power Management
Go to device manager. (right click "My Computer" icon, select Properties, Hardware Tab, then Device Manager)
In the 'Computer' drop down menu click standard power Properties, then on the 'Driver tab. Click 'update drivers'.
Check 'Install from a list' Check 'dont search I will choose'.
From the menu select APCI
That should do the trick

I forget to say you that my WinXP is in spanish. I'm trying to find that you indicate. I go to "device manager" (Administrador de dispositivos) in this way:
right click "My Computer" icon,
select "properties",
Hardware Tab, then Device Manager, OK!
Here I am...
I can't find the "Computer" and its "drop down menu"...! because my WinXp is in spanish. I'm sure that it is in front of me, but, I'm sorry. May be "Equipo" or "Dispositivos del sistema" ?
Could you please translate at spanish what is ?
I understand what you mean with update drives from the list.
Thank you in advance...

alright.. heres another thing to try..
When you get to device manager, press view ( in spanish) then press show hidden devices..
You should see a device that has a red X on it.. double click on it, and on the bottom there should be a enable button. click it and restart.

If you right click on the desktop and go to propeties, Then click the screensaver tab, then click the power button in the box, and go to the end and click on the APM tab, then enable it. Reboot and that will do it. Sorry no spanish,
