If he's guilty , which it does seem he is, (innocent untill proven guilty right?.. mmm hhmmm) He should be tried as an adult. 17 years old is old enough to know better than to molest a 15 month old baby.
I could sit here and type all kinds of profanity on what should be done to this guys but that, IMO, only makes me look like a fool, I mean it pretty much goes without saying that this guy wouldn't last two seconds in anyones presence. Anyways.
I hope he gets the chair. Yes I BELIEVE in the DEATH penalty.

Try the kid as an adult, but the maximum sentince should really only be 5-10 years (no bail or perole).
Yeah, he knew it was wrong. Yeah, he ruined the child's life - if she knows about it -, but he still /legally/ is a child too.
If they try him as an adult, than give him everything an adult is legally entitled to as well.
Just my 2cp.

IMHO, if you commit an adult crime, you can serve adult time!

There are worse out there that haven't been big press stories. If only the media didn't own this country. Not even one month ago I was called to a scene to find 2 dead/raped 2 year old girls as well as a practically dead/raped mother and it was their own father no less (not stepfather). But it was not reported on at all. One of the stupid guys I work with actually said...
"Thank god they weren't all white or we would have gotten some really bad press."
In conclusion, BFD.

What on earth is an "adult" crime? Crime is crime.
I can't stand this idea of treating people as "adults" when you're trying to get back at them, but as "children" when you're trying to deny them rights. At 17 in the US, one can't vote, buy beer or many other things. It's a double standard. People want it both ways, yet like to believe they're being consistent.
As for him, he's obviously got some problem going on. But that goes for anyone who attacks infants I would think. Same thing for the "shaking" deaths of infants you're always hearing about. Of course you hear much less outrage over those MURDERS than you do about something like this simply because genitalia was involved.

Oh boy, someone's going to love having him as a cellmate.
He will be earning lot's of cigarettes for his new daddy.
Better of for him to have killed himself. What a peice of S**T!

I don't think thats true. the infant will live through this horrible event. When you get shaken to death you die. I think being dead is worse.... As for the filth that did this... he has problems that can't be cured.... He has come up lame, he got dealt the wrong hand and we can't allow him to continue playing it. Thin the heard before he hurts another.

Yes, you're correct, it is MUCH worse. Read my post again --- I
agree with you. My sarcasm was
aimed at those people who treat something like this as worse than murder (and have extreme anger only because it's sexually related). Murder, of course, is the ultimate. Sorry if my sentence wasn't written clearly enough.

The real sad part is he'll go to a single cell, PC'ed up or a prison designated primarily for those type of people. (Corcron) (sp?)

I really don't know what to say.
I wonder how this person lost their respect for human life.
I will never let my child out of my sight ever.

it is my opinion that sex crimes should be treated just as murders. The reason I say this is because often after a person is raped, they feel dead inside, often they never really heal and end up with seriouse mental problems relating to others.
I've seen what the victims end up doing to themselves and those around them

This is pathetic, hearing about news stories like this. UOD, he would of had to have had respect in the first place..
Never going to let your child out of sight? lol, Impossible. Just get a shotgun.

No I understood. I just think the gen pop is able to see the difference but of course I agree this is more provocitive so more people than usual chime in.

Well, the headline says rape, but he's being charged with sexual battery. I'm not sure if that means he actually did rape the poor child, or molested her in some other way...not the actual act of...well...you know....damn that's sick regardless what he allegedly did.
