Browser & IRQ Tweak Question *[Newuser]*

Hi.
I have been visiting your site often and it has
been very helpful.
I`ve recently moved from a dial-up(which I had tweaked) to a
broadbandconnection. -(About which I don't know anything)
The stuff on your site is very inetresting and I`ve learned
a lot too.
A big thank you for it.
From the 'Advanced Tweaks' Page
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I take it that the Registry tweak works only with IE.
If so, is there any way I can apply this registry tweak in another browser ?
I use Netscape or Mozilla. -At present am using Mozilla 1.0.
-(Have Quoted relevant text below)
I am connected to the Internet by a LAN using an Ethernet Card built into
my chipset.(no cable modem)
My other query is about the IRQ on the "System.ini Network Card Tweak' page.
what relevance has the line for me, Quote:
"For internal Cable Modems, you'd have to add the entry using the IRQ of your modem, rather than the IRQ of a Network Card."
I don`t have a modem but my card is, built-in.
Am using:-
Win98
The adapter in Device Manager is ,
VIA PCI 10/100Mb Fast ethernet adapter.
It is on IRQ - O5 which is shared by
the Graphics Adapter & ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering. -Totally
Will this affect performance ? are there any alternatives ?
Do you have any suggestions ?
Also should a LAN Port be listed in device manager like the COM ports.
-for faster loading of pages.
According to the HTTP specs, only limited number of simultaneous
connections are allowed, while loading pages. To increase that number, add the following entries to the Registry:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000020
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000010
Alternatively, you can download a patch.......
The tweak & patch above works with Internet Explorer versions 4 to 6....
Any help, information or advice would be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Starsurfer.
