I just purchased the movie Blue Velvet on DVD. It is my favorite David Lynch movie. Dennis Hopper plays the nitrous snorting Frank Booth to perfection.

It's a toss up for me...I thought Twin Peaks was out of this world.
His best movie imho though was Wild At Heart.

Ya like psycho's in movies, check out "The Bad Lieutenant" Harvey Keitel is a heroin junkie that likes to bet on baseball games. Some awesome scenes when his team loses. Not for the faint of heart tho, it had me is a weird mood for hours after I watched it.

Well, at no one is raving about eraserhead.
The tension in Blue Velvet was so well done.

Blue Velvet is an awesome movie, David Lynch is in a class of his own. Great choice, David!
Mulholland Drive is another good one, I believe Lynch did that one too. Great movie to see if you like lesbianism or watching a girl masturbate furiously and crying at the same time. A most memorable scene, to say the least.
On Harvey Keitel:
Brembo mentioned
The Bad Lieutenant, another great choice!
Resevoir Dogs comes to mind as a must see movie in that vein, and who can forget "The Wolf" in
Pulp Fiction?

Talk about smooth...
Keitel and I share the same birthday, I've always been a fan.

i'm surprised nobody has mentioned "Wild at Heart" another Lynch movie with his signature insanity written all over it.
Blue Velvet is fantastic as well. not as far out as Eraserhead, but better in the insane tension dept.
Lynch a nut.

Hardly recall Blue Velvet, but Lynch gives me the creeps. Every one of his movies is filled with occult symbolism. I do like how he's fixated on the dream realm- but I personally dont think it works in movies.
One of the cool things I noticed in his last one, was when the landlord came to tell the dude that people knew where he was- He wasn't in a room. He was in a closet. haha.
Bad Lieutenant was a good movie. Harvey Kietel really suprised me in that one- The seen that stands out the most to me, was when he had those girls pulled over and he told one to act like she was sucking, and told the other to show him her ass, while he purged himself on her ride. hahaha.
freaks.
