How many fps should this be able to support with a p4 1.7, 512 ram.. Etc etc
Also with xp

I get the nvratefix.. And I install it and all the microsoft updates, and it wont be stable in the fps area

Like Ill have 85 fps.. THen I get into a fight and poof 50.

Now I know I shouldnt be complaining but it should be able to support more than this.. Correct??

CS isn't a good game to judge performance by, it's limited in the graphics department....

thank god for the ignore feature.

and besides counter strike is only limited to 30fps at it highest . and i think your problem is maybe the motherboard driver and agp drivers . fps fluctuates when you dont have the correct ones on

yeah Cybor is right CS wont GIVE you more than 70 or 80 FPS 80 is very extrange to see. Well is not only on CS its on all Half-Life engiene (pretty sure i misspelled that word ) i get 30 to 40 and its ok

CS max fps is 100 i believe.

if u disable vsync and it inst enough then try switchign between open gl and direct x, if ur getting 150 fps in RTCW u should have no problem with CS, now learn some manners u dumb bastard.


CS players tend to be damn rude in the game, u seem to be carring the rudeness even farther.

Sorry about being a dink, I am just starting to get very frustrated.. I have registered on like 3 forum boards to try and figure this out, and no one seems to know what the problem is..

Counter strike supports up to 100 fps, I know this as I havea friend who gest 100 fps always, he has the same video card, and I have a better computer.

I have tried with vsync off, and it still drops to like 50-60

And, Ive tried in software, open gl, and d3d...

Any other ideas, dont suggest rivatuner, or detonator destroyer, already been tried...

IM getting very annoyed at this..

One thing most people over look is programs running in the background of windows. Close everything before entering a game, makes a world of a difference.....

RTCW and MOHAA stresses the system way more heavily than CS. Take the beach mission for example, that's where I get around 40 with AA, aniso, and Truform on. CS, I get higher than 60. Like Brent said, it's very limited and the Half-Life game uses the Quake 1 engine.

Try turning vsync off.

And in MOHAA and RTCW, did you turn all your settings on to the max? Cause I don't think even a GF4 Ti4600 can hit 100 with AA, aniso, and running at a very high resolution with all the in-game settings on. What video card ar eyou on?

theres a trick u can do so that it shows whatever number u want constantly in CS that may be what ur friend is doing, if ur getting good fps in RTCW then i wouldnt worry about the CS fps since its 50-60ish
