Is It Possible?

Is it possible to get a device that could switch you between your router (in my case a Lynksys BEFSR41 4 port) and your DSL modem? Something like an A B switch, or box? It seems to me that things could be a bit easier if you could, when going into things like Netmeeting, or the like. With a router, you have to go in and use port forwarding, and enable DMZ and so on, and so on! If there were such a possibility, it would be so much less of a "hassle" The only hassle would be the initial setup. Also, I find uploading is better with my DSL modem.

Never heard of such a device. :) If there was and you used it, you'd no longer have the security of the router's firewall.

One or the other (DMZ or port forwarding) should be used, not both. Port forwarding is more secure.

Probably because that router isn't the most stable with the best performance. :) How much of an upload difference is there and are more than one users on at a time?
