I know this has probably been covered somewhere on here. I have not found the info during my recent brose through of the last 10 pages or so.

I'm finally going to make the jump to a clean install of 2000pro. Just wondering if there are any web sites that will help me make a smooth change, and *maybe avoid* all the painful crap that comes from a clean install.

Any references or hints would be greatly appreciated!!

<sigh> I hate this!! you spend so much time tweking your system, only to start over every couple of years or so! Not looking forward to this, but I know I gotta do it!

thanks for the MS link. I'm planning on using a program I have that will write all zeros to the hard drive. Is this a mistake .. overkill??? I figure I might as well get the HD as clean as possible. I'm also planning to swiching to the NTFS file system - again, good or bad??

thanks for your input on this tired subject.

I'm so glad that you decided to overwrite your hdd with all zero's I use Ontracks Data Eraser its not a bad idea.. but you know there is a way to do an unattended full install with Win 2k Pro.. Oh hell yeah.. its just so easy.. here is the link follow the directions..
Win2K Pro Edition is really the only windows OS I use anymore..once in a while Win98 just to walk friends though problems. Well I sort of do the same with Win 2K but I play games and surf with Win 2K.. XP and I are not on good terms.. I haven't been there in 2weeks 3days. Say it with me.. XP sucks. XP sucks. I'm serious about that.. I wish you good luck with your install.
You'll be back here to get some Tweaks .. I promise.
