They turned down his request for a boxing License. I feel bad that this guy who could have been great has ruined his career with such BS. He had so much potential....

Ridiculous. He should be allowed to box. So what if he is an ass, asses are allowed to have jobs.

On the other hand maybe the Boxing Commitee is finally doing it right and is not worrying about the money.

Hey, can't they go to a foreign country and box? I don't think the rules apply to the boxers outside of the US. I don't know.

You know mouse in all honesty i really don't think Mike wanted to fight Lewis and did His best to get out of it by his actions.

If you remember Hollifield when Mike was losing and the Big Bite, well he just did it again.

Better Disqualified in His mind than Beaten imho.

He knows he's not the fighter he once was, but his pride is important to him and this way he gets out of it with an excuse in his mind at least.

I guess the money men will try to get the fight in Australia or somewhere where they can avoid the Nevada ruling as it's too much for them to say no to.

This will get interesting before it goes away imho.

Tyson is a ticking bomb. Upwards of 400 million dollars is the number I have heard in pay-per-view terms. Boxing industry needs a dose of respectability. Although the fight would have been fun to watch. He'll appeal it, prolly win too.

He's been given too many chances for too many things, even for a "celebrity". Personally, I hope he never boxes/bites in this country again.

Well when I watched it on TV the people deciding said that he was presenting himself as a bad role model for other young people who wanted to get into boxing.

They said that they agree that he was provoked into the altercation but that as a celebrity and a professional he handled it very badly. It appeared that they were more upset with the way that he let his anger get out of control then the actual scuffle.

I think that tyson has not really had people around him that cared about him. People have used him and influnced him into his own destruction. I still think that he could have been legendary.

Tyson's first big blunder what hiring Don King. As usual with most fighters associated with King, it's all downhill from there.

The only boxer I can remember in my lifetime who could hit almost as hard as Tyson's body shots was Cooney. He didn't have the moves to get inside like Tyson.

Tyson's upper cuts and cross's are legendary. His body shots sounded like sledgehammer blows. You could hear and see the pain of the other fighter when Tyson went to the body.

Even now, if Tyson were to really get into shape, Lewis wouldn't last 12 rounds. Problem is that Tyson lacks the focus nessary to accomplish this feat.

I can't blame the boxing commision of the great state of Nevada.

I'm glad the Nexada Boxing Commision did not become blinded by all the $$$$$$$'s that this fight would have brought in. I think Tyson should just go away. He is a serious mental case. He can not act in a professional way.

Way before my time but I remember my old man mention Rocky M. a time or two when he and his buddies would watch the old Ali / Frasier fights on ABC.

I wish that I could have been there to see that.

It is sad that this generation had to witness crap like tysons career. So many things have changed, I can't help but wish that I had been born sooner

I actually had a little cave dress made for me, I wore it for holloween and it fit like a second skin... LOL

Hiya minir....it was just a bit before my time. However, I've seen quite a few Marciano fights that have been rebroadcast on various sports shows.

I suppose that a lot of todays younger boxing fans don't realize that fights back then were 15 rounds or longer at the turn of the century.

Rocky had a fast jab and a huge hook. He also had a ton of heart!

I doubt Tyson would be allowed into Australia with his criminal record and the fact he has another case pending. He would fall into the catagory of "Undesirable Alien". LOL
Personally I think the energy could be put to better use by sending him into Afghanistan tearing open the caves looking for terrorists.

Oh He was a fighter all right.

Almost beaten a couple of times and Boom He'd get charged up and that would be all she wrote.

Each Punch was meant to do damage, no pittiy pat from him.

He was also by all accounts a hell of a nice person..

Yes 15 Rounds was the order of the Day for a Championship Fight's downhill and these Guy's were in shape to do it.

Gillette was the Sponsor of many if not all of them.

We Kids knew every fighter and His record back then, they where our Heroes.

We used to sit around the Radio listening to the announcer describe the battle we envisioned in our minds, then Saturday at the Movies and the World News would show the Fight, we'd go Nut's.

Ring Magazine was a biggy then.

When TV came man that was livin.

You'd have loved it mouse.

See their are some advantages in being older than Dirt. Hahaha

Imagine going through a whole Movie without one Nude Scene, or a complete Movie without 1 Woman in it.

These where also Great Movies, today they say Hi and rip off the threads, No Talent in most cases, hell not even their own Boobs.

Times were different all right.

I dug up the record to show what He did and how quickly in most cases as well.

He was simply Awesome in the Ring.


Boxing is a mess now and has been for many years, with 4 or more Belts per Division, and everyone stating They are the Champ.

Back then there was No Confusion. You Where or Your Where Not, Simple.

It will be interesting to see what comes of the whole mess as the money is too big to pass up.
