I've never seen a video card without a heat sink on the GPU!!! sounds dangerous....

wtf....
lol

it's prolly a lower clocked chip..
if you got it out of a dell and I'm assuming it worked fine in the Dell it should be ok

That's a good idea...I wouldn't use it without a heat sink on it. You can get a Blue Orb for cheap these days. If you see no holes around the GPU, then you would have to use a thermal epoxy glue to attach it on....for good, well kinda ;)

MX cards dont require a heatsink or fan. In fact, the Herc MX card that I've had experience with only has Ramsinks and that's just to make the pretty blue PCB even prettier.

The fan on my TNT2 died ages ago, so I took a fan off an old slot1 HSF and super glued it onto the heatsink. All I needed then was a 3-4 pin adapter and away it went. Try and find a heasink from an old PC or a freind and use some epoxy or superglue to stick it to the GPU (if you use superglue don't expect it to come back off for awhile). Or if you can't be bothered with that you could just buy a Blue Orb. :D

I believe it's the opposite, I just checked out those card and they have a blue anodized heatsink on the GPU and no RAM sinks... Even the Voodoo3 and TNT2 cards came with heatsinks on them...
