Star Wars Episode II with N Sync? *Blah*

What gives with this? I saw the original Star Wars in theaters when I was 7 years old.
Seems George Lucas's daughter is a big N Sync fan and he plans to put the boys into the movie for a short character roll as Jedi Knights or something like that.
George...please don't disgrace the series with something so unjustly as this. It was bad enough you created Jar Jar Binks which started a mockery of the series. Funny he was not to the old Star Wars fans like myself. To the kids yes. The only exception to this was Han Solo and his one liners. You went too far with Mr. Binks and way out to lunch with a boy band.
Please keep the story line strickly about the Jedi's and The Empire!
Just my own opinion. Forgive me if I upset the Jar Jar Binks fans!

*Sigh*
THEY'RE IN THE BACKGROUND.
Chances are, you won't even notice them, even if you are LOOKING for them.
I hate boy bands as much as the next guy, but people are making this worse than it really is.

Just that N Sync is in the movie at all is enough to make me burn with anger. It's a disgrace to Star Wars and to the older fans that made Mr. Lucas (sarcastic) his millions by watching this movies.

Yes, it is a confirmed FACT by LucasFilm that the members of N'SYNC will have a SMALL part in the background of a scene, no lines or anything. Think of them as any other extra in the background. How many extras do you remember from any film? Besides, if you were a member of N'SYNC, wouldn't you KILL to get in a Star Wars movie?
Latest report:
"George has been shooting "extra extras" scenes lately over at Industrial Light and Magic and apparently N'Sync themselves asked to be extras. No, they don't die and no one can tell just how much screen time they'll really end up with until the print is locked. I was told you can see them clearly in the footage, but again, they shoot so much and use so little. "
And this from Launch.com:
Truth is, Lucas himself had little or nothing to do with the already controversial cameo, explained Hale. She says it was producer Rick McCallum who invited the *NSYNC gang to the set after they explained what big Star Wars fans they are. Their contribution to the Star Wars universe--and the resulting uproar over it--might all be for naught, however, since Hale explained that the *NSYNC scene might be edited out the final version of the film. If Star Wars fan reaction is any indication, Lucas better get cutting.

Ya gotta admit the irony in having a boy band in a film titled "Attack Of The Clones"...

Attack of the Syncs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge fan of Star Wars. If I approached the producer Rick McCallum and ask to be in the new film, think he would? And if there is a remote chance that he would. All my friends at SG will be in it too.
McCallum would probably make us all wear Ewok costumes.

maybe the opening scene will be n'stink getting eaten by something or dying a slow painful death.

No death would be too painful enough!
Maybe Jar Jar could maybe eat them with his silly sling shot tonque.
Ahhhhh sweet merciful jesus just don't put those characters or any other boy band on the editing table. Editing floor yes, but not in the damn movie.

Dude, like I said, I doubt you'll even NOTICE them, considering the scene(s) they're in probably has at least 50+ extras (if you know the scene I'm referring to, you know what I'm talking about).
Like I said, comments like this blow this completely out of proportion. You make it sound like "Episode II - STARRING NSYNC!!!" when its not even CLOSE.

Go ahead and post it then, and when you see the movie, you'll know what I mean by them being EXTRAS IN THE BACKGROUND.
Besides, you'll going to go crazy looking for crap like that instead of just enjoying the movie. Kinda pointless in my opinion...

Me being a true to life Star Wars buff would notice any extras in the film. Maybe not the first time grant you.
My point is to a real Star Wars fan like myself and others, for Lucas and friends to even think this up is beyond.
It's like trying to eat sugar right off the spoon or something like that.

Kinda strange and weird. (yes I do this, relaxes your diaphram muscles to stop hip cups almost immediately)
I'll enjoy the movie with or without N Sync and The Backstreet Boys singing the title song "Return of the Clones"

A) I am also a big Star Wars fan, and yet, I don't have a problem with this (and I'm not the only one).
B) Lucas "didn't think it up". He didn't say, "You know, some boy bands would really make this movie kick ass", and then go out and do it.
C) See, comments like that last line is what I'm talking about. There's no singing or anything, they're in the background. And something tells me, unless you have some secret obsession with them, you wouldn't even recognize them if they walked right in front of you, let alone being lost in a massive crowd!

BigJim this is a general discussion forum. Right? Right! So I put my comments on a thread about my not liking the fact that N Synce was even mentioned to be in Star War II.
So rumor or not...it was my feelings and no others (at first) on how I I I I I I felt.
Chill bro!

I'm not telling you what you can and can not think. In fact, I'm just following the same guidelines you mentioned above by explaining my side. Obviously, no offense is intended.

Got in from my daughters collection!
It's that I don't like N Sync personally and I can care less about the music.
It's the fact that they well be in the movie. Costumes or not.!
Update!

My darling wife just got home from the office.
She heard the news that N Sync will be in the new movie. The best part...they get killed by droids. But the news did not say if they will be in constumes, back drop or not.
Killed by droids! Enough said.
I do believe they will be edited out anways. Just some scrap on the editing room floor.
Do you still love me BigJim?

(spoilers):
Them getting killed in the battle on Gnosis is still a RUMOR, obviously. Could be true, but there's too many variables for one to make an accurate conclusion of their role in the scene at this point.
