Slow Internet...

I have cable but looking around the web is very slow... my downloads are still at 50 - 60 k
even this site 1 page takes about 20 - 30 seconds to load up.
my history and temp internet files are empty
does anyone know what the problem might be ?

Do you have the correct "patches" loaded into your computer?

Use the ones that are on here or get the software over @ www.cablenut.com.

You can always TWEAK the connection manually if you like.

Check a traceroute to the sites that are slow. Look for LAG or high response times. Usually that is a good indication of high traffic.

Could be the NIC. Is it working correctly?
How about the ethernet cable? Is it OK?

Could be the cable connection. Are all the connectors correctly installed and tightened?

Gee, It could be anything at this point.

You're using a cache, and that will hold you back.

In Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Connections, lan connections, make sure that no box is checked.

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and select it there. It won't remove it..choose the option ot Repair it. If it's not there, then upgrade to at least 5.5 and it'll show up.
