I had a 720kbps upload (of 768k) with my old Northpoint line.

What ISP offers 512k up and who is the ILEC & or CLEC in this case?

In case you are wondering about how much of that you will actually see...

512kbps / 8 = The very absolute max you'll never see 64kb

What you might see around -

(512kbps * .95) / 8 = 60.8kb
or
(512kbps * .85) / 8 = 54.4kb

...at best without knowing the line quality, or any carrier details.

I'm on BCTEL's true adsl (now run by telus bleh) but my package is 4Mbps down (4000 Kbps), and 640 Kbps up, which is pretty reasonable at $65 per month Canadian eh 8uP

Yep acutally even thought of buying this condo due to that fact lol ( how sad I know) I had a 20 person lan party at my condo on a couple occasions, and all of us were pinging sub 40 ms playing Tribes 1 on a server down in Portland, Or. and I'm up in Vancouver BC.

Not bad, and to top it off my ISP even dished out all the ip's w/o me having to pay extra for.
