I want to start my own business hosting game servers. I was wondering what connection do I need and how much would it cost???

UUnet, Sprint, Quest, Williams Communications, just about any name you see in a trace route. Figure maybe $75k startup for the T3, servers, cisco router, etc. Depending on where you are, a T3 these days might go for as little as $5k per month plus about 10 cents per gigabit of data. Make sure you negotiate for the IP addresses as part of the deal.

I sure can't. T3 prices are always negotiated.

I can't spec out the router, I don't have enough detailed knowledge of that area. Needless to say, you'll need someone that understands Cisco programming. What you propose to undertake requires a fair amount of specific server, hardware, communication, and business knowledge. Do you have that or have access to it? For example, your 30 servers will need around four tons of air conditioning, and your power bill will run in the neighborhood of $800 per month.

Just to give you a heads up on some online gaming co-hosting sites. Most game hosting sites are fed by at least a couple of OC-3 lines....anything with a "T" is old slow news these days.
