im not sure what your asking, but im guessing they are still on win95 or win98.

anyway id go for win982nd, i dont like winme i felt at the time that winme was a waste of time and a OS that was rushed to offer a year 2000 OS, i never wanted it nor would i ever trash my pc with that crap.

win2000 pro is good, just u will need to upgrade all drivers.

What I mean't was what MHz you need and what ram you need, But I have found out now 66MHz and 24MBRAM

Pick me, pick me. And if you do you can experience a bit of good old Aussie hospitality. BBQ's, tropical climate where you would be doing the upgrade. Great Barrier Reef at the back door.
How far do you want to go with this upgrade???
What's that you said.... No?

Hi JLR
But I have found out now 66MHz and 24MBRAM

Win98SE seems to be more popular and by far less buggy

As to Ram, 128 would be the minimum to really enjoy it. 256MB, even better.

They use a fair bit, I started with 128 & upgraded to 256 and noticed a considerable difference in performance, then i went 384MB and all's well.

I think they pushed it as 32MB being the OK figure, but i would not buy that imho.

Hi JLR

Just saw your post again, sorry.

It would appear they would be better served with 95, i have a niece pretty much the same deal. No go.

If it was doing ok leave it and replace the system when able. By the time you upgrade everything it's probably cheaper to replace it.?

Good Luck
