Linksys Router

Awhile back I bought the linksys router, which worked great, except that my friend a I could not join the same CS server even though we have seperate CD keys. I want to get a router cause Im using sygate and im tired of leaving my computer on all the time. Is it possible to join the same server using router and i so can someone give me instructions of how to do so please. BTW using RR cable modem. Thanx

I think
ONE of you should have to edit the command line in your desktop shortcut.
Right click on the halflife shortcut, choose properties, then in the command line section (the top one), you'll see the path to the "hl.exe".
At the end of that line, hit your spacebar and type this in:
-port 27016
That is a hyphen and there is a space between port and the number.
Hope that works.
If someone knows something else, please chime in.

i have 3 pc's using different cd keys, using dsl through a linksys routers, and we can all get in the same game server at the same time without anyproblems. I have even created games and they have joined, but when they join they do it threw the lan section of the game.

PacerFaN: when i play half-life (si and dod) i get kicked out to the consol, so i have to rejoin the game. Do you have the same problem?
