I've seen a few posts about this subject and just ran across this.
It would be fine for a small room and really not a bad buy.

good deal. parts express is great for stuff like that, the Dayton speakers are quality stuff, for the price.

I just got a Yamaha subwoofer...it's pretty good...but the standby doesn't work on it

Looks like it's got a pre out to me. It has low level, line in and line out, RCA jacks.

Does anyone still have a reciever made before 1976? I'm trying to get surroundsound to work using my OLD A$$ reciever...still works GREAT!!!

Thats going to be tough sledding. First off you only have two amps built into your reciver for stereo. You need 5 or even 6 for Dolby Pro. Then you'd need a dolby processor. It would be easier to find a newer reciever with Dolby. Maybe save some money by looking at your local hock shops.
