Who else has the Netgear RT311 (or 314)?

I'm just curious in who else has this router? I originally tried Linksys but the pos kept going dead on me requiring me to reset. Anyway, I bought the RT311 since I already had a 10/100 hub. I've NEVER EVER had a problem with my Netgear router. I serously plugged it in, entered in my computers name, saved the routers setting and poof, all my machines had internet access. This is definatley the best piece of hardware i've spent my money on.
I'm just curious in to who else has had great results? I've done the one or two rom update that netgear posted without a hitch too..
P.S. No I don't work for Netgear

RT314 here. Has not been one lick of trouble. I couldn't have asked for an easier setup. Speeds are awesome.

That's what amazed me. I could have sworn my speeds actually increased after installing the router. I'm a big fan of Netgear now.

talk about a no-brainer...absolutely no problems with the 314 since I installed it for an NT4 system, now running 2000. The box runs fine with a NT4 system, a 98 system, and a 2000 system hooked to it and operating at the same time, if I needed to do so for some reason...

I have a linky currently, but i am going to get rid of it and buy the Netgear RT314. My linky isnt that much trouble now that i got rid of dsl that uses PPPOE, but i have always heard good about Netgear. Either one though, just depends on your service.

I replaced my Linksys with the NetGear to try to solve game server hosting problems with the Linksys...and I found the same as you...faster....never had to reset it or reboot it except for the voluntary firmware upgrade I did.
It ran everything better than the Linksys, but still had some annoying WAN client booting problems that myself and a few of my other gaming buddies had with UT engine based games. So I reluctantly sold it to get a Netopia router which is simply unbelievably robust..I love it, bitch to learn and configure though. So the only glitch I and others had was running a UT and Rune server, if it did that OK, I'd still have it, cuz otherwise is was a great box, liked it a lot better than the Linky.

Just one more thumbs up for RT311. I'm pretty new to networks and broadband, but even I was unable to mess up installation or performance

You know...I was also going to say that my speeds were faster, but I thought everyone would think I got a hold of some bad crack, so I didn't say anything.
Seriously though, sometimes I get a fast FTP server and I am way over 1Mps (MegaBYTE per second) for sustained periods of time. The RT314 is sweet.

We are the authors of Link Logger (
http://www.LinkLogger.com) for the Linksys routers and have been thinking about building a version for the NetGear product line (if possible).
Questions if I may be so bold as to ask. How many NetGears have been sold? Do all NetGear products have the same logging format/information as say the RT314? Are there any worthy logging tools for the NetGear? Should we use the ZyXEL product as the basis for our development and testing??
Thanks

MY friend, who use to be my room mate, has one and a DSL connection. I could not believe the speeds of the network we had at the apartment with his rt314 and my linksys 5port switch. We term serv in, he has an ftp set up. We play Unreal quite a bit. We build PC's and have 8 PC's running at one time downloading updates and drivers and it just smokes!!!!!
I bought mine from best buy - they had the chepest price in town from a brick and mortar and a $20 rebate. They had some 10\100 Nics on sale to with $5 rebate.
I was looking at the SMC and Linksys. But knowing how well it worked for him I opted for it and it is a breeze. Even came with firmware 3.24! I haven't upped to 3.25 (yet).
Get it!

Nothing against the folks here, but the NetGear/Zyxel experts hang out here:

I bought an RT314 to replace my Linksys that I was having trouble with. The RT314 arrived DOA. At least the Linksys works.
Netgear sucks.

Then exchange it! Geeze. We have tons of people here who are very happy with the NetGear. There's bound to be a bad one out there and you just happened to get it. Exchange it for a new one and quite whining.

You'll love it when you get it going.
