total hard drive shredder

ok well, i know there are programs out there like the AnalogX program that can shred a file so it can no longer be found... but i was hoping for a DOS based program(that i could run from DOS off a FLOPPY DISK) that could do the ENTIRE hard drive in one shot
any ideas?

I believe Nortons Ghost has that functionality. Only runs under dos (reboot from Ghost boot disk). It is not free but under $100.
I wouldn't bother though, the FBI isn't interested in your barnyard porn collection. They have a better one;}

Well norton Ghost is included in Norton System works, but I dont see how you can do that. I just looked at it in windows and it doesnt say anything in the menu about clearing the whole hard drive.
Am I just missing something here???

Why not just 'fdisk' & delete from DOS startup disc??

Norton Ghost V2001.04 build 50: Ghost Users Guide pg 58.
"Ghost GDisk.....high security disk wiping. You have the option of wiping your disk to the US Department of Defense standard or even higher security" The utlities need to be run under dos. You can only view and manipulate image files from windows client.
We use it at work before we donate/trash machines or disks. Just one of many....

We have used a data recovery specialist. Data was recovered off a HDD that was submerged for over an hour during a flood. Guy revered most of the data. As I recall, he charged us $5K. Data is still there until it has been overwritten several times. Takes VERY specialized equipment, though.
