OK, Here it is. . i have DSL and cable in my house cus i am in the middle of switching from DSL to cable, I have 2 computers, My DSL uses static IP's and the new cable uses only dynamic, this is where my prob occurs, when i set my setting for "obtain an ip automatically" only 1 computer will detect cable, with out using a hub if i plug the modem into either computer still the one picks up the new cable, i have switched lan cards, still the same computer picks up cable, so i know its not my lan card, i FDisk, both computers with clean installs and STILL only the the 1 same computer picks up cable, the other computer will pick up my static IP with DSL just not dynamic one with cable ... SOME ONE HELP ME FOR PETES SAKE!!!!!!!

who's your cable provider?

so you say when you hook up one computer it works fine, but when you hook up the 2nd computer, it doesn't?
and when you hook it up with a hub, only the one works also?

are your network settings the same for each computer?
if you have ATT @home, you need to get a 2nd IP address, or actually it's a computer name, that may be your problem if you have @home, otherwise, I'm not sure.
