Ok, I'm gonna check my connection again.. I am using Windows 98, cable modem provider is Rogers@home. Pentium 2 350 MHZ (yeah I know. sux) here's my results after I got Cablenut patch 4.0, and installed the Vtcp.386 patch:

513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8176 kbps (1022 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 3270.4 kbps (408.8 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 52 hops

I think its kinda bad, this was taken at 10:12 pm SAT.

I haven't installed any of speedguide's patches like mtupatch98 and stuff, should I, or should I not? will it help? or would it screw over? or just leave everything the way it is?

The only thing that comes to mind is the web tweak for faster loading of webpages, if you haven't already put it on.
It's really a bad time to try to test speeds. You may want to do that very early in the morning, when net traffic isn't that busy. Try Netstat Live from www.analogx.com It measures all speeds right at your computer! Test your speeds at a fast FTP site like www.happypuppy.com or another of your choice. I think you'll see a big difference. By the way, Netstat Live is free and can be found under network software at Analogx!
