Wow! I've missed some of those stories about the customers at the store.

Yeah, did you tackle any thieves lately? Anyone stealing bikes in front?

Shoplifters have been rampant.
Too many to list.

Mother with child tried to swipe a muzzle.
Woman in early 50's swiped a $60 aquarium ornament and bounced me off of her car when I confronted her.
Early 20's chick stole a $200 gecko tucked into her sleeve...

So, what's the deal with all that? I mean, is there a market for geckos or does someone just want one real bad? I just don't understand stealing a pet.

Couldn't tell you.
My friends are always amazed we get any shoplifting at all since we're a pet supply store.
We get hit all the time, probably multiple times daily.
Collars and leashes and harnesses first, toys and treats next, then fish and reptile supplies.
Throw in the occasional mid-50's woman shoving cans of cat food into her jeans or a random super-sketchy early 20's woman who steals by tucking items into her hoodie hood.
