If your tcp optimizer settings dont save you maybie have the same problem i ran into

The problem at my end was that i installed a file called "tweaking.com - windows repair" and let it "fix" my system with all options ticked.
After that my tcp optimizer settings allways reverted to blank fields after i rebootet my pc.I tried everything, even changing the settings through cmd only worked for just a few options.

What fixed the problem (sry to tell you that) was doing a windows reinstall.

You can do that by search in the start window lower right on your desktop for "update" and go to the recovery tab.

Just curious, before reinstalling, did you try resetting Winsock and TCP/IP from the "File" menu in the Optimizer?

One can reset TCP/IP and Winsock to the Windows defaults from the File menu in the Optimizer

I had the same problem and also found the only fix to be reinstalling Window 11 Pro (24H2). Also used a program (don't remember what it was) to fix my stuck MTU which was at 1456? Not only did it not work it froze my MTU at that 1456 value I also made sure to disable any automatic background services the program may have initiated. No matter what I did it would reset the Optimizer reset. A big loop of getting nowhere fast.

PS - Still love the TCPOtimizer though.

PS/PS (=PS2? lol j/k) - My max download is 25. After total clean reinstall I don't think I need to even change MTU for PPoe ADSL, which is currently set at the default 1500 and should actually be 1492 as you know (No VPN)...result https://www.speedtest.net/result/17349440481 This is my result while connected to my VPN https://www.speedtest.net/result/17349434409 The only thing I might gain is from correct MTU is maybe lower latency...I honestly do not know....I'm a laman

If it's working you're ok. Windows 11 TCP/IP tuning is pretty well optimized to boot.

I am running into one glaring issue. My downlaod speeds are greatly varied...2-3.4 which averages out to be about my usual best at 2.7 I think I am gonna have to reassess. Playing online games with that variance will surely have me disconnecting quite a bit I would think? I probably start with using TCPOptimizer to only change my MTU to 1492 then go from there. I'm figuring the RWIN is responsible for this variation quite a bit too. I should also be able to get my Latency down from 60-70. That will also surely help playing online games. I really have no experience in tweaking my NIC card settings like Throughout Boost? Time to Google I guess

After having to reinstall the OS I am kind of gun shy on the idea of changing much. I have been downloading and reinstalling stuff since yesterday. Ugh... I will tweak incrementally this time for sure in hopes of not messing things up. Thanks for your reply Philip!

PS - Forgot to mention I have actaully been a long time Member here. Close to the year 2000 or a little after I do believe. Could not recover my Account because I signed up when I had a 56K Baud Modem in a different state and no more access to my signup email address. Newer versions of Windows don't let us tweak the RWIN setting, it is "auto-tuned" by the TCP/IP stack.
The TCP Optimizer "Optimal" settings are good set for Windows 10/11 if you want to try that. You should NOT have to reinstall the OS if you want to revert settings.

I've got something strange going on with my MTU. I need to do more testing and see what's going on. Will post again here with my findings.
