Prayers Needed Please

Sad day yesterday when news came that my middle son Lee aged 49 was on life support at the hospital. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver about a month ago when he was hospitalized. He made a remarkable recovery but failed to abide by the rules for long term health. It simply broke my heart to see him in his present condition.

He has not awakened despite the best efforts of the hospital staff & the outcome is not viewed as good. They have not given up hope and feel there is a few days left to try to bring him back before they can say for certain the eventual outcome. We remain hopeful he can recover.

I ask for your prayers as it is in God's hands now.

Thank you all

Larry

Thanks Brian.

It is one of my hardest days in a very long time if not ever. There is nothing i can do but ask the Lord for his blessings that my son can pull through.

I do appreciate your kindness.

Thanks Randy, Humboldt & Lefty

I really do appreciate your well wishes.

The latest update is he is squeezing the nurses hand when asked questions now & they are going to do a scope into his stomach which is very distended to see if there is internal bleeding. They need a specialist for that and they are trying to arrange that for later today. This will help them with their treatments and hopefully in his recovery.

Things are looking better. I'm sure your prayers are a large part of that, Thank You All

Here's to hoping

At a loss for words, such a situation is a tough one to confront. My advice is to go for walks so as to become a bit more extroverted and try to keep attention on the present. For what it's worth, prayers and well wishes have been sent your way, and at the appropriate times you will know they have arrived.

Thanks TonyT

Last night they had Pre-Season hockey on with my beloved Leafs playing and it was a real treat to become immersed in the game and for 3 hours i got the respite i so very much needed. They are playing several games this month for which i am most grateful.

I am off to see my boy in a few moments though they now have him sedated as he is going through withdrawal symptoms and is quite aggressive when allowed to awaken. It is a difficulty situation but i remain hopeful & very much appreciate your support and that of the SG community.

Good news today :thumb:

When i arrived at the hospital they had my son sitting up in a chair and his breathing tube had been removed. there were still all kinds of drugs being administered and he had tubes and such everywhere. He was never a big man but weighed about 170 and was strong and wiry, he'd be lucky if he now weighs 90lbs. Truly shocking for me to see. While their we got some pudding into him and a bit of a cookie. I had him drinking some water as well. He is having a great deal of difficulty swallowing unfortunately. His voice is a whisper as well due mostly from having a breathing tube down his throat.

The good news is he is coherent and coming around. I am so grateful to the Doctors & Nursing staff for this gift. Hard to express my feelings at present. I can only hope & pray he will follow the rules this time as he will never survive another round of this.

I Thank You All for your support and prayers and there is no doubt in my mind they where well received by the Lord.

My regards to all

I'm late to this thread, but continued prayers for full recovery now and continued recovery once he's out. I've never figured out how to keep a person from relapsing. They have to want to stop and sometimes, despite our best efforts, they won't, therefore the continued prayers.

Thanks blebs

Its a tough one blebs, you can only hope and pray for the best. The good news is they moved him out of ICU this morning and he is now in a recovery room. They had him walk with support to the bathroom today and all tubes etc are removed with the exception of one which is antibiotic's for his lungs.

A definite step forward. They now have to try to strengthen him and help get some weight back on. From there it is totally up to him. Hopefully he will accept help from AA or counseling of some addiction related organization. It will be a long time of worry and prayer that he can have at least several years of sobriety & a more rewarding life.

Again my Thanks To All

Thanks so much twwabw.

I'm trying to remain as optimistic as possible, however he is not noted for his resolve and from here on it really is up to him. I've tried to enforce whats needed in him and he understands however it is going to take all his will to do so.

Each day however is a bonus & I am grateful for that.
