Windows 8 seems to be limiting my ftp speeds

As the topic says really windows 8 is limiting my ftp download speeds, the max I get is 1.2 MiB/s on one connection however connecting to the same place around 8 times will get me 8 threads all downloading at that speed so clearly I am capable of more. In windows 7 I definitely had more especially on usenet which could supply as and excuse me if i write this in correctly 12Mb/s.

I have tried the tweak apps found here none of them made any difference I am wondering if anyone knows of a setting that might be causing it. I at first thought it was an ftp software issue only once I changed the buffer in that software the speed increased up to 1.2 from what was at the time .5 ish then I tried another software and as I say that one can connect multiple times around 8 seems to be the most it can do well but they will all do at 1.2 each thread

FTP bandwidth is regulated by the FTP server and WWW server, not Windows. What FTP software are you using? Have you tried downloading directly through a Web browser? To test, use the built in Windows ftp from a command prompt:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/docu ... x?mfr=true

I have had better speeds in windows 7 on the same servers, friends can connect to the same server and get better speeds, numerous people complaining about the same issue when you google for a solution. Doesnt really matter what software I use since they all give the same results as does using command prompt.
I appreciate the reply but my experience of windows 8 so far is it absolutely is limiting my ftp connections.
