use snmp to monitor SMCwgbr14-N wireles router

Post by BPB21 »

I don't think the SMCWGBR14-N wireless router supports snmp "out-of-the-box", but I'd like to monitor it using snmp all the same. I've found workarounds for other equipment that doesn't natively support snmp (primarily for monitoring; I'm not actually desiring to interact with the router via snmp) but I can't find anything on this. I'm tempted to replace it with a Linksys wrt54g (as modded with http://www.dd-wrt.com of course) for this functionality but was wondering if there was any way to set this up aside from changing the router. I'm using Munin and seeking to monitor the router from a debian linux system directly connected to it.
Any ideas?
