Erroneous Paypal transfer

So someone sent me a large sum of money to my paypal. At first i thought the email i got was a phishing email, but its legit. Obviously the money was not intended for me.
I'm not a jerk and will eventually send it back because it is a significant amount, but theoretically what recourse do they have to get the money back?
There is no notation in the comments and no email yet explaining what its for.

Still could be some sort of scam. The funds may be bogus. I don't think I'd transfer it to your bank account. Have you emailed them?

Returning it is the cool thing to do, hopefully it’s not drug money.

I would contact paypal and tell them...let them handle it the less you have to do with it the better.
