Hi to All
Been trying for an hour to figure this out with no luck. Looks like MS

has intentionally locked Google out & Bing don't sing for me
Appreciate any suggestions you may be kind enough to offer.

Thanks

Uninstall BING
Go to
toolbar.google.com install the toolbar....notice 2 checkbox options *set Google as default search, and *set for home page. Ensure check in both.
As the toolbar installs, notice prompt for Notified...change to Google
At end, enable the toolbar with the prompt.
You can hide the actual toolbar if you don't want it, hit F3 to bring up the old File/Edit/View toolbar..View...Toolbars, uncheck Google toolbar.

Easy..I wouldn't even install google toolbar. Just reset IE9 to defaults and then when it prompts to change search prefs and gives you option you select Google and boom done!

My advice, get RID of IE, go to MOZILLA FOXFIRE, it takes some getting used to, but once you learn it, it is AWESOME
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/
I left IE when either IE5 or IE6 came out, so unless IE has made up all the lost ground they allowed to happen to them, it probably still SUCKS by Comparison.
And yes, Bing SUCKS, seems like B.G. (a/k/a MS) wants to RULE OUR LIVES, I bought an OS, I did not agree to SELL MY SOUL TO Microsoft, thank you very much!

Can't you just go to tools and then search providers and add google or remove the others so it uses google?

IE actually got very secure....matter of fact over the past couple of years it's enjoyed many months of less vulnerabilities than Firefox. IE 9 is VERY secure...and fast.
If you want an alternative browser, Chrome!!!

You get enhancements and it gets locked down via the toolbar installation.

The downside of IE9 is its html 5 support and lack of standards support.

Except that that's really not much of an issue, to be honest. People cry out for standards support, but IE 9 has equivilant support to any other major browser on the market right now (FF, Safari, Opera) and in a few cases, more. It passes the Acid3 test with flying colors, so...
