I have several friends that own come Cannon products. One has a T2 and the others are just point and shoot models. I'd like to get them something like a battery card and/or battery for these cameras (the kind of thing most people don't buy themselves) but I'm having a hell of a time finding anything on Cannon's site that gives the maximum size of the flash card they use? Finding a battery or battery pack is easy. I'm just stumbling over the memory card size.

for my 50D I have a 8 gb CF and I had 8gb SD cards for my T1i and XS that I had, they are and were big enough and fast enough for whatever I need,
for my 50D right now I use a Sandisk 60mb/s udma extreme 8gb,
I don't think there is a rule for size,it's really whatever you want to spend.

I've got about three 8gb cards. They're really overkill for photos only but if you are shooting video with the newer SLRs, then they're a good size. I think they make 16 and 32gb cards now. As far as the point and shoot models, make sure you get the right type of card which I believe is SD while the Canon SLRs are Compact Flash although the 1Ds have dual SD and CF slots.
