Officially retired from the Government!

I retired from the Marines after 20 years, 1 month & days but you aren't "officially" retired until 30 years. Finally got my official 30 year certificate today.
It's a nice document and includes a tiny little retirement pin to wear on your lapel. What is a little scary is that paragraph 3 says that as a Retired
Marine I may be ordered back to active duty without my consent! I guess you are never really "out" which is the way us Marines like it. :D

I can still remember when you were still in and crap was hitting the fan. Thought sure you'd get deployed at least one more time instead of them letting you out.

Thanks for your service and more importantly, thank you for your friendship over the years.

Congratulations Marine.

Hopefully they don’t get hard-up from lack of enrollment and ship you off to Iraq.

Yeah I read that too. You know the saying, "Once a Marine, Always a Marine."

Unless your possess certain skills, I'd say your probably safe from ordered activation. Knowing you though, you do possess certain skills. :D
