Hey guys,
So, I've been given a rather large project at work; to figure out a good asset management system...
Any suggestions as to where to start?
Would a web browser based system work? (Locally hosted)
How hard would it to write the data bases?
Cheers,
Pete

OK, so we're kinda gonna be running with MYSQL and PHPmyadmin.

One of my accounts uses Spiceworks for their IT inventory management.

Assets such as equipment and their bar code numbers, serial numbers, brand, mode, warranty, where puchased, when the piece of equipment last wiped its butt...
Rather in depth information about each piece of gear. When I say gear, I'm working in PayTV broadcast. So there's alot to be done...

I was going to try that once. I do have it installed on my old work computer.

Most of those type of programs want to scan the network, and I'm not sure if I want it to... Lol... Can't I try the software with it scanning the network for information?
