Wireless Modem and Wireless Router issues

Post by Pettos »

Hey guys,

So I signed up for wireless internet, as where I'm living doesn't particularly have cable.

I have a Wireless Modem, a Huawei e160x, and my wireless netgear wireless router, MBR624GU.

I went to the wireless modem support list on the netgear site, and it appears that the router supports the E160, but my modem is a E160X. Seeings that it's a E160 series, would i be able to downgrade the drivers to run the E160? Do I have to? When I hook up the modem to the router, the router says USB device not supported, when it should, i think, because it's part of the E160.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Pete

The modem is a USB modem.

Much like this one... How would I connect this via cat5? Are there adapters?

[Edit]The router has a USB port in it[/edit]
