Was wondering if this is difficult or even doable? This screen only does 1280x800 and it hurts my eyes after a while of use, unlike my IPS panel on my desktop.

swapping out most of them are easy.. I know Dell's are pretty easy over the rest to swap out.

I've poked around on Ebay and think it's possible without to many issues.

Replacing with identicle part number is easy.
"upgrading"...that will depend. I know it's possible, I've seen it mentioned at some specific laptop forums..like some older Thinkpads where people bought a non-flexview screen laptop and added a flexview screen later.

However..gotta have a screen with the same mounts, cabling, etc. And some laptops...the upgraded screens meant an upgraded graphics card, and if you have the base graphics card, the VGA bridle passing to the screen may be different.

yeah, might just deal with it as it is...seems like a lot of trouble getting things properly matched up for 'upgrades'
