looking for 2D video test

I've been using PCPitstop's test suite to improve my system's performance. One unexpected result was the 2D video score. My 7600 GS card turned in a pitiful 11 Megapixels/sec, compared to the 118 MP/s benchmark for my card, according to the site.

I'd like to get a second opinion, especially considering that I hadn't noticed any issues with my card. Also, the 3D performance is nominal.

My driver was outdated so I downloaded the latest. Unfortunately, it wouldn't work (code 10). To recover, I installed the original drivers that shipped with my card and re-tested. To my surprise, the 2D performance jumped to 118 Mp/sec. The test screens flew by so fast I could hardly see them!

After trying several intermediate driver releases, I discovered the code 10 error only occurs with drivers released in the past few months. But the performance problem as reported by the 2D test began with drivers released during the last half of 2007.

What I don't understand is why such a serious problem wouldn't show up in my normal computer use, especially considering I do a fair amount of 2D graphics. One possibility is the test itself is somehow flawed or impacted by a change in the drivers.

Can someone refer me to another site with a 2D video test? I'd like to validate the results from PcPitstop.

TIA, David
