Nvidia Gforce2 mx crashes (desperate)

Equipment: Elsa Gladiac Mx, Win98se, PIII 500, 512 meg ram.
I am trying to play falcon 4.0 and have loaded all their patches. I have loaded and tried each and every driver from both Elsa and Nvidia (ver. 0650, latest) and I am getting random lockups anywhere from 5 to 120 seconds into playing. I have removed every card except the AGP Elsa and it stills happens. I have removed all Directx from the machine and loaded the version that came with the game. Other games work fine except Falcon 4.0 and Enemy engaged. I have run out of things to try.
I'll take any suggestions at this point. The winner gets a free trip to Mexico

SpeedMan A Suggestion
don't play that game
like speed says, with all the reading material you get with Falcon 4.0, who gets time to play it anyhow. Damn thats a big manual check in the little manual what recomended resolution you should be at. might not like millions of color settings, they give you that great big binder, might as well read it. I'd go grab mine but it would take me two weeks to get throught the binder to try and help.

do you have the card set at 2/3 of the bus speed and not 1/1 in your bios......

Explain pls. I am using a Soyo mobo and can only adjust FSB speed. How do I set the cards speed in my bios?
I'm awake and waiting

Ok, after thinking about it for a second I know what you're talking about. I'll give it a try. Just seems weird how it might only effect certain games?

I suggest going to
www.nvidia.com and downloading the latest Det. 3 Drivers. They fix some compatability issues, and improve performance. Peace

find the 6.67 WHQL certified drivers and you will have absolutely no issues.

I havent had any issues with Falcon 4 since installing it on this new machine. It had problems with my old VIA chipset. The MVP3. But it works fine now. I was also using an ATI vid card. That may have also been the problem. With my new setup, everything runs fine. Sorry man. I know ALOT of people who have had trouble with Falcon 4 (myself included). Maybe thats why the game dropped from $50 to $15 in just a couple of months.

The issue is resolved. NightOwl was right. Although my MOBO had the AGP clock set to "Auto" it needed to be set manually to 100mhz.
