Hello,
I wanted to add an add on video card to my desktop computer, but I don't know if I have an AGP or PCI slot. I wanted to improve gameplay on several games I have, they all look sloppy and stuff. I have an emachines T1742 desktop.

those white slots there look like PCI slots.. not AGP and they can be any color really just depends on the motherboard maker.
Here is details

My motherboard looks identical to this one here:

Except my motherboard doesn't have the brown AGP slot, it only has the three white slots shown there. I think they might be PCI. I am not really sure

I'm not sure why your not listening to me..it doesn't have to be brown to be AGP. Your system according to what I've seen so far has a AGP video interface... if that board is identical to yours you have a AGP slot and a few PCI slots. You DO NOT have a PCI Express slot.

If you have an AGP slot there will only be one, not several. Also an AGP slot will be spaced farther back on the motherboard than the other PCI slots and be a different color. It will stand out from the rest. Usually in a tower PC the AGP slot is the one highest up from the bottom.

The emachines T1742 does NOT have an AGP slot. It has 3 PCI slots and an onboard graphics chip.
If you wish to improve game play my opinion is get a new PC, that one is not worth upgrading at all.

your prob right about it not having a AGP slot.. I was reading interface and not thinking of the slot existing. But yes its not worth the effort into upgrading when a new desktop several times more powerful can be gotten for less than 300$ now.

Ya its a pain that they list the onboard as AGP like that, they should add "onboard" in that line.
