Please help me - illogical NAS transfer rate!

Hallo!
First of all I'm sorry for my ugly english but I'm going mad trying to understand my very strange LAN. I really need your help!
I recently purchased a Synology DS-107+ NAS, interconnected via a D-Link DGS-1005D with my HP NC8430 notebook. All of the controllers are Gigabit, and I'm using 2x2m. long CAT6 cables. Other peripherals connected to the switch are a MacBook (turned off at this time) with 10/100 controller, an ethernet printer (turned off at this time) and a Xbox360 (turned off also).
So at this time I just have 3 peripherals turned on: my laptop, the switch, the NAS. Jumbo frames are turned on and set to 9004 both on the NAS & the notebook.
And now the funny & strange thing begins.
I open a folder containing, say, 5 files 700 MB each. I drag'n'drop one of them into the shared folder on the NAS, and I get 51 Mbit/s as maximum transfer rate (constant over the whole process). The same for the other files.
But if I drag'n'drop the whole folder, containing exaclty the same files, no one more or less, I get 122 Mbit/s as transfer speed.
What the hell could be the logical explaination for this crazy situation??
Thank you for all the help anyone will give me!
