I can bet you everything you own that if they had a great economy and your family was starving, dying of the lack of basic human health care and getting murdered over drug wars, you'd be thinking about moving there in a hot second, picking jalapenos and weeding the cucumber fields.

1 in 4 is not old news. the rapid increase of the immigrant population is old news. you are correct in that i would do whatever it took to provide for my family.

No it is old news. I've posted before that by (didn't read the article) 2020, it's projected that Hispanics will be the majority in this country.

What nationality (ies) make up your bloodline? I recall some pictures of you posted in the past, if I recall correctly, you have darker hair and skin is a bit too dark to be of WASP descent.

i think there is a little german (although not sure) ... i do have brown hair, but the skin is from a tan.

I'm not WASP either! I just have a quick eye for regional differences in people...did a lot of social and anthro back in the days.

I'm a mutt! Mostly Irish (which..we were hated back in the Irish immigration days...lower class), German, a little French, and some American Indian (Crow..Green Mountains).

But on the flip side...having native American in me..gives me an "my ancestors were here first" edge.

edit: that is all tan due to building a fence in the summer for a month straight all day when i had time and then in cali for a couple weeks.

Somewhere around 3 million of the US population is native American..the rest of us....our ancestors immigrated here.

I don't mind people moving here from other countries..as long as it's done correctly.

Every wave of immigrants has faced persecution, Irish, Chinese, Italians, now it is the Mexicans. It's pretty typical reaction, not that I like it anymore than you.

Right now, our farmers can't sell corn and are prepared for the worst. It costs them $5.50 to grow a bushel and it only sells for $3.


If we collapse and we can't pay our forces to protect our southern flank, the fleeing Mexicans will push north/northwest through Texas into the heart of our farming areas. It will be like a surge and from there, they can get established and entrenched.

IF they collapse first, I think we'll see 1 million Mexican refugees seek safety inside our border.
