I finally picked her up....

So after reading countless pages on SV forums and getting some advice from this board, thanks everyone, I finally picked up today my 08 SV650N ABS with 1 mile on it. The first time I saw her I was in lust, what a gorgeous bike it is in person. Signed the papers and slapped on the leathers and lid on and took her for a check ride.
I've ridden mostly dual sports, and dirt bikes so getting used to the wider stance took a second. I went down a development and got my bearings and turned her around and opened her up and then checked the brakes with an emergency stop. The dealer said that they would feel different than non ABS brakes, I can't say I really felt a difference.
After the check ride I took her home with the girlfriend leading the way in her car. Bear in mind I hadn't been on the road in 8 years and felt a little naked, no pun intended, in heavy traffic. I had a 15 mile ride home and was amazed how fast I became comfortable with the bike. The snappy throttle response everyone was talking about I had no problem with, most likely because I was ready for it. Everything was awesome, I couldn't keep smiling the whole time and once the traffic cleared I "gave her the beans" and looked down to see 84 mph....OMG I love this bike.
Once home I ate some lunch and took her out again, and managed to put 50 miles on her and have to say I'm kinda tired. Thanks again everyone for all the information and help, this is the best purchase I have ever made. So without any further ado here she is:

Awesome! I like it.
When I picked up my SV650S in August, I drove it home...three hours straight. Ugh. Never again on a sporty bike.

You know why motorcycles are better then woman?
Your parents won’t get pissed when you bring home a black one.

oh, nice! came very close to buying a '07 SV1000. really like v-twins and v-fours. and suzuki's SV line have prolly some of the best value for the money. may not be loaded up with the top-line components and hot tuning like gixxers, but then again theyre like 30% to 40% less in cost compared to the same class gsxr. plus they sound cooler

Very nice looking bike Tarpoon....I always love black/charcoal/brushed on a bike.
Best of luck, health, and smiles!

It was a joke man, just a joke.
tarpoon, I like the bike except for the fact it has a staggered seat. Not a problem for me but my wife hates them. She doesn’t like being so high even though she is shorter then me. I'd give up vital body organs to have another Ducati Monster.

If I could afford one I sure would have gotten one, maintenance is stupid on those. A friend of mine used to be the head mechanic for the Duc Dealer here said what they charge was down right crazy.

I hear ya man, had it been for the fact that I was a motorcycle mechanic for years I would not have bought one. From what I’ve heard maintenance is crazy high on those.
