So I play Team Fortress 2. Every 20 or 30 seconds my game freezes for 2 or three seconds. This also happens for me on counter strike. My system is a intel 2.4 i think e6600 processor. 4 gigs of ram, radeon 1950xtx. I am using a wireless network card. asus wl-130N. It used to be fine, just lately it started to be inconsistant.

got something trying to update? Something running in the background hanging?
Are you sure its internet issues? try a large download and upload and see if it hangs then. Tried to restart the computer? Have all updates loaded?

Its a risk with wireless. Have you changed any settings related to the wireless setup? Any new purchases liek a cordless phone on the same frequency?
You could try changing the channel on the router. Also is your wireless network using any security?

No nothing running in the background. and yes it is internet issues. I just went through half life 2 and all the episode and it ran flawlessly. I just bought a new router as well, an N one to see if it would make a difference and it doesn't. Yes i've tried to adjust wireless settings and it has a wep key on it.. I don't think its just "wireless" because i get full bars and this only recently started happening. It always did like once a game but the frequency of the lag has increased dramatically. Downloading is completely fine.

Remove wireless.
Test with hard line. If hard line performs ok, it's your wireless setup. If you still get issues without wireless while connected via hard line....it's your PC's configuration.
Process of elimination.
