Any of you folks suffer from back pain? What are your remedies?
It was hell to walk around today.

Yeah I suffer from it. In fact the next incident I have I am supposed to go get an epidural. Basic pain meds and muscle relaxers as needed is what I take.

I blame job stress for this one. I try to sleep on my back but usually end up sleeping on the side that hurts.

YeOld just posted about his choice for dodging pain. It's an inversion table. I'm thinking of getting one.
Years of hard labor, coupled with that accident I had around 5 years ago, can leave me in a lot of pain from time to time.
What am I doing now? Exercise and Yoga. Don't laugh, it works. I do weights and I use an inflatable ball to help strengthen the core.

If you sleep on your side, there are a couple of things to think about. First, your bed has to be a bit softer than one made for back sleepers.
Secondly, and this is a must. Sleep with a pillow between your knees.
Also, you might consider massage and a chiropractor.

Depends on the cause. For me, the past few days, was muscle spasms. I'm taking a muscle relaxer, napercin and wearing a patch to reduce inflamation. After tomorrow, I am going to stop taking the percocet. So, I will be staying home one more day so that I can relax.

I had severe lumbar strain 2 years ago. Shooting pain down the syatic nerve.
Remedy was a list of exercises.
#1, Lie flat on your tummy with your arms down your side for 3 mins to relax the back muscles.
#2, lift your head up and hold in your hands with elbows on floor. Release back to Exercise #1.
#3, Press ups, like push ups only keep hips on ground.
#4, while standing, putt hands on thighs back, and lean as far back without falling over.
That's it, works great, pains been gone for 2 years now.

Where on your back is the pain? Is it sharp, constant, does it come with stress?
I have scoliosis and have basically worn the cartilage between my vertebrae in the lower part of my back. I do leg lifts, crunches, (brembo is gonna have a field day with this) hip thrusts lying down flat, stretching the ol' hamstrings, and lying down flat on your back and twisting your shoulders and hips in opposite directions and holding that for 30 seconds on each side. That does wonders for me in helping realigning my back.

Sleep on the floor for a while. That always fixes me up.

one can say
treatment depends to the reasons and neurologic signs.
Often one week OTC from NSAID
is the simplest, first and best choice.
In case of 'undiagnosed back pain'
recommendations: tablets as above
and appropriate proportions
a week recreations (young woman) to red vine (old world)
means: plesure, physiotherapy with huge production of endorphins

Seems to happen on Tuesdays. So the **** that goes on with me on Monday must be the cause.

Easy peasy if the area you live in is big enough.
My chiropractor is brunette, is an ex rodeo queen and built like you wouldn't believe. I'm not exactly sure why I don't see her more than I do.

If it is from stress, you may get muscle spasms. You should see a doctor. I find with what I have been going through the past 2 weeks, Tiger Balm gives relief.
I know mine is muscular. I stopped the meds and will use the Tiger Balm now.

I do have access to a whirlpool, maybe that is an option.

If it’s through stress, you probably need more exercise.
If it’s through trauma then you need to find an experienced, highly recommend doctor. I have tried those inversion tables and it put me in the hospital, due to the fact I have hardcore trauma related problems with my back and neck.

I just got back from the chiropractor. They did an x-ray on my spine. I have three compressed discs. Stretching is the only thing that will loosen them up.

have a good quality firm mattress to sleep on,
don't fall asleep on the couch watching tv,
use a lumbar pillow on your chairs and car seats that you sit in a lot,
old news here, but lift with your legs when lifting heavy items,
those are 4 things that work for me,and I have had a bad back for many years.

Don't wait too long. An x-ray will show if there is something going on. Seek medical attention.
I finally went to a chiropractor and he x-rayed my spine. That is how I know I have a few compressed discs. I am lucky though because he said heat and stretching will help decompress my spine. The discs are not severely damaged.
My other doc just told me to take napercin, the muscle relaxer and the percocet. I did not insist on an x-ray.
Insist on an x-ray. It is important.

Do you find yourself leaning to the right side? Look in the mirror and see if your hips are at equal heights, if not you might want to go see a doctor.

If you choose a chiropractor, choose one who uses a non-force technique. I don't believe in the cracking technique. I never did and never will. I have benefited a lot from the non-force technique.

About 10 years ago my mother got 2 broken ribs from her chiropractor.

He was a cracka!

The one I have believes that when your spine shifts, it is because the nerve impulses change and cause the muscle to pull which shifts the spine.
I remember a few years ago, I had pain under my left arm and side. After two sessions of him applying pressure with his thumb on a point on my left side, the pain was gone and never came back.
It is a wonderful technique.
About 20 years ago, I was climbing a fence and used my arms to pull me up instead of using my feet to push me up. I shifted the bones in my cervical spine. I ended up with severe inflamation and it affected the circulation in my right arm. My fingers were turning blue. I cannot find this guy anywhere now, but when I went to him at that time, he applied pressure as with acupressure on points at the base of my neck and across my shoulders. Within 2 minutes, the natural color came back to my fingers. It never recurred.
Non-force is the way to go. I am living proof of it.

Unless it breaks the ribs of a 55 year-old woman.

He must of used the cracking technique. The technique I am talking about will not break a bone. If she went to someone who used non-force, then she may have issues with bone density which will need to be addressed.
