I have been searching the internet high and low for the past week trying to determine the best internet security / antivirus package available on the internet ( i dont mind paying ). Review after review i have come to what i believe are the top 3 paid antivirus / internet security software available. Here they are:

Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
ESET NOD32 Smart Security
BitDefender Internet Security 2009

Now, i downloaded and installed trials of all 3 program but am still trying to decide which is the best one. Just wondering if anyone here has a preference to any of these 3 programs and why?

Thanks,
Matt

Avira hands down. I was a reseller for years with Kaspersky until they wouldn't fix some issues that I have seen and other problems that KAV can cause.

Avira is extremely light weight and has dominated in detection rates in the past few tests. It has always has excellent detection rates but had a number of false positives, the false positive problem is a thing of the past.

You'll be good with any of the above 4. I've not had as much Kaspersky experience over the past year as I had in the past, so I'll leave MNOs opinion on that.

I'm an Eset fan myself..and reseller. It's good and lightweight and consistently good in detection.

AntiVir has worked hard and climbed to the top..they've been sitting in the top seat for almost the past year now as far as detection rates...great lightweight product.

Kaspersky is the best

I personally used many different security software, and I think Kaspersky works the best, although it might be over capable sometimes ;)

My personal choice for the last 2 years is BitDefender IS. I've recently switched from 2008 to 2009 and I'm still a fan of this product.
Had no problems with it after a proper configuration of the firewall and antivirus scanning options. I also have an XBox linked to my network that I've also got linked pretty quick.

So my advice would be bitdefender internet security 2009, but after you trial each and every antivirus you should do a full clean-up after them :)
