Hey guys,

I'm new here and I have a questions concerning my new desktop computer and its performance in cs source.

Specs:

ntel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz quad-core
2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz
500GB SATA II 16MB cache
MC-500: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT 512MB DDR3 DX10 PCIe 2.0
6-Ch High-Definition
20x DVD-writer SATA
Antec Sonata III Quiet Super Mini Tower
Antec EarthWatts 500W

So my questions is, is it worth overclocking this system for cs source and for higher fps?

I have everything set on max and I get 100+ fps with v-sync off and no fps configs.

Do I need any configs? how do I know if my games is running smoothly? and is it true that if your monitor max's out at 75 hz then that is the max fps that you could run at?

Thanks guys...

In my opinion any thing over 45 FPS in first person shooters is a waste of time. For faster action (racing, flying...etc) i like to keep to as close to 60FPS.

ANYTHING over 60 is for bragging only!

It's been a long time since my CS days. But I'm pretty sure 100fps is the max for CS. Either way, I wouldn't bother OC'ing with those FPS.
