it used to run win 98 2nd, b4 still one more thing, the ram im useing is a 128, 133 stick, i know the mboard dont support 133, could this be a facter?, i thought that if you put a 133 stick on a board that dont support it, it will still work as 100.

The ram should be a problem unless it the manufacturer of that kind of ram (I think most mobo use unbuffered ram). What kind of Mobo do you have? i'm using the system you jsut described and I'm not having too many problems.

the pc, is out my other home, ill check tomorrow what board it is, i think its a gigabite, or something like that, also i have a spare 400 k6 chip so ill test that aswell. i had a faulty chip b4, that read the first cad files but would not load after the setup files where in stalled.

Ahh just to let you know, my friend had quite alot of problems with an old gigabyte board he got and the first time he used it, it actually caught on fire, so hehe don't play with it too much. By the way, do you have the manual for you mobo?

Oh yes! I think I know what you problem is, you old mobo needs a newer bios verion. Find out what company manufaturered your mobo and then goto their website to get the bios upgrade.

If you can get into the bios there's a reset thingy in there. I forgot the name. It should be listed somewhere like in the pci/pnp intergrated devices or something. It resets something so that you can load your operating system. Look for it in your manual if you still have it or it should have a description in the bios also.
