Can you elaborate more? What type of routers are they? What do you hope to accomplish by connecting them? Depending on what you want, you probably just want to connect them as switches and not as NAT routers. You would do this by plugging a cross-over cable from one switch port (not WAN port) into the switch port of the other router.

The routers are 2WIRE adsl router/modems supplied by my isp. I would like to set up separate printer/file share network, separate to the 2 networks behind the nats. We have a media center pc that is used by both parties but is serviced by a server from 1 network. So at the moment the media content of the 2 networks is not being shared by the media center pc and I would like that to happen without any degradation/changes to either existing network. We can use external HDDs but it is a hassle to constanly update as the content is being continuely updated.
Was thinking of a switch but that means running 2 crossovers I think. We have cat5 in place and it would be a mager hassle to run more cable. So was wondering if there was a way to use existing cabling. VPN maybe?
Thanks for your help

Solved the issue by enabling wirless connections for both routers and 3 machines. Works great. Thanks for your help.
