well, the first thing i would to is read this ( http://www.speedguide.net/Overclocking/overclocking.shtml ). it will give you the basics in whats involved in OCing (and i apologise if this is all information you already know).

my guess would be that "yes", you can OC your proc. with the FSB and maybe the multiplier (depends).

the real question is how much you can OC, and that i dont know.... i am sure somebody here can give you an approximation. if not, there will be only 1 way to find out. :)

yep, you can overclock it

It may or may not be multiplier locked

Try first bumping up the multiplier by .5 and see if it does anything, if it does not then it must be locked, therefore you have to up the speed by the FSB which is possible, just make sure to have active cooling which means a Heatsink with Fan over it and maybe a case fan blowing over that....

But yeah, you can overclock em if your motherboard will let you that is! With Dip switches or pin's on the mobo itself, i doubt it will have the settings in the bios with that old of a cpu...

difference in overclocking a K6 and Intel Pentium are much different, the Pentium can be clocked higher then the K6 the old AMD cpu's couldn't be oc'd very well... and don't even talk about Cyrix :D

Show me a board that supports more than 233 on socket 7

Thnx for the replies guys, well If I only can overclock to a pentium 233 than it's no use, cause I get a new one soon !

And I play CS a lot!But I dont think that an OC from 200 to 233 will give me such an high speed boost!

You didn't state a board that supports more than Intel 233....
so
I have a Chaintek 5SSV Mobo in one of my comps
It's got a K6-2 500 though

I was refering to the super socket 7 mobos

which is neccassary for K6-2's and the like up to like 366Mhz even!

The MS-5169 (Socket 7) and the Asus P5A and P5A-B (Both socket 7) suport that clock speed.
