So your going through a parking lot at 1am in the morning. As far as you can tell there is no one there. In the middle there is a stop sign. Do you ignore the stope sign and go through it or still stop?

In Ohio, that would almost be guaranteed to be on private property - I'd pretty much ignore it.

I stop at every stop sign. I didn't use to, but at one sign out in the middle of the bush I was rolling through a stop sign at a railway track when I noticed the train. By the time I got the truck stopped I was less than two feet from the train. Scared me so bad I just about had a mess to clean up.

Now I stop at every one, no matter where, no matter when, besides it is a $250 dollar fine.

if it's clear I roll through parking lot stops signs all the time

ignore it or drive around it

As Kip stated, that would most likely be private property, and thereby not punishable if you were to roll through.

i am ususally going to fast to notice the sign

I would stop...so as not to get too used to doing the "rolling stop"

Parking lot in Ohio? Private property, most likely.

I only stop (or slow down) if I can't see if someone's coming or if someone is there first. Only to avoid an accident.

Ever since another car hit me in a parking lot and the law couldn't do anything, I never forget the cop saying, "Well, since it was on private property, we can't do anything unless there is an injury." OK!

Id stop...it doesnt say STOP for you to go right through it.

What happens if you run through it, and hit a bystander that you didnt see? You disregarded a stop sign, therefore making it YOUR fault.

My wife stops at a stop sign at the mall where there is no road to the right, just a big concrete barracade, and you can only turn left, j The stop sign is there for the future use. There is no way a car can drive thru the baracade. I fly thru and she white knuckle clutches the door handle & freaks at me. When she drives she comes to a complete stop and "I say "wtf u doin?"

Its also meant to slow you down which clearly you arent doing.
