I want to download IE 5.5 to disk. The Microsoft site only allows for a auto install of IE 5.5. If I choose save to disk, it only saves a small setup file, not the full program.
How can I download the full program to disk?
any other place to download IE 5.5?

I have IE 5.5, the full setup option. I know that under Win2K you cannot download the full setup. So what I did was download it from my WinME machine and just saved it. What OS do you have? I wouldn't mind sending it your way via email or ICQ. Let me know

I have Win ME. It only lets me save the setup file. I want to save the entire IE 5.5 file. I think it is a 25 or 30 meg file which would be too large for an e-mail attachment. I have installed IE 5.5 on my machines with the (open file option) in download, but want to save the program to disk for a friend who has a slow connection.

After trying several times to download it to CD I gave up and ordered the CD from Microsoft (this was before I got my cable modem). Believe it was about eight bucks or so.
If you do this you can always burn a copy for your friend and keep the original....

I have a cable modem connection that will let me download the file very quickly but the Microsoft site only lets you download and install in one operation. I need a way to download the complete IE 5.5 program to disk and install on another computer later.

PC configs are diferent. When you download IE5.5, Microsoft checks your PC. The downloaded files are for your PC. It may cause problem if you install the software to other pC

A cheaper alternative to ordering the cd from microsoft is to look for it in a copy of Maxium PC with the disc...I think it goes for around 6 bucks. It comes with a bunch of software. Netscape, IE, and tons of garbage also. Still, you have your browsers on cd that way.
