I agree...mid-later 50's Chevy.....the steering wheel logo...
Hit up some Google images...of various years. Over the years the size of the tailfins varied (batmobile style), the eyelids over the headlights, etc.

That would be a 1956 Chevy. I know because I had a 57 and the grill was a little different.
Not a '50's Chevy

JBC, Was just browsing to find an answer to a problem I have and had to register to reply to your post - this is definitely not any '50's Chevy. If memory serves, all had 5 lugnuts on the tires and none had the McPherson strut-type front suspension - I think your original photos show the differences. I cannot say what it is, though - that's a much larger pool of choices.

MacPherson struts have a shock absorber built inside the spring tube, these pics don't show that...to my eyes the car in the above pics doesn't have MacPherson struts. Just the old coil spring with the rubber bottom out stops.

YOS - you're right, that's not McPherson struts - another photo, img_0499 clearly shows the shock absorber below and external to the coilspring. Again, though, as I recall the 50's Chevy's that I owned had a front end suspension that looked something like the front end shown at:
http://www.chevytrucks.org/tech/1963-19 ... PGRADE.htm I know this page is labelled "Truck", but it still greatly resembles the 50's Chevy BelAir front end suspension. There are some experts in the neighborhood here that may yet know what this cars is; I'll ask and post again later.
