Having purchased the Wii and the Sony PS3 I find that the Wii is much more enjoyable then the PS3. I will go far to say that the xbox360 and ps3 are terrible for first person shooters in comparison to the PC and do not compare in enjoyment that the Wii provides. Playing golf, boxing etc is much more interactive on the Wii then the others.

PC gaming is 100x better then console games. The keyboard and mouse attributes provide better accuracy and allow for much more flexibility then the console.

As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of selling the PS3 all together and put that money back into a PC but will never get rid of the Wii :thumb:

Added thought :) :)::::

How the hell do you have accurate aim using a single jointed thumb for gods sake :wth: . Totally sporadic shooting because of the lack of accurate movement controls but unbelievably easy. Playing Resistance on the PS3 was not only boring ( actually reminded me of Metal of Honour with some Half Life aliens running around ) but even with the lack of functionality, all you have to do is act like a shooting retard and you'll pass the levels. No ingenuity, lack of realism and totally linear mapping.

Wii is soooo much fun :D

there are not many titles up to date for PS3 tho ..
360 is different story, cod, nhl, star trek, quake, gow just to name a few ...way better on console comparing to pc.ON pc I would have to master 25 butttons just playing gow, cod, nhl ...
Wii ? Never tryed it so I cant say if it's good or not.

I wouldn't go as far as saying console FPS controls are "terrible", but there's no doubt that I'd take a keyboard and mouse over a gamepad whenever the option presents itself. Part of the trouble you're having with the controls may stem from the fact that you're simply more used to the KB&M combo though, as adapting to any new control device can take some time. But for anyone who has logged in thousands of hours with a Dual Shock, while it may not give the accuracy and speed of a mouse, the control is still more than acceptable to play a game.

Silly question, but what difficulty setting were you playing on? I'm not saying that the title in question sets a new bar for enemy AI, but if you're acting "like a shooting retard" and surviving, something isn't quite right.
No ingenuity, lack of realism and totally linear mapping.
The above are all issues with a specific piece of software. While the Sony crowd may be pimping Resistance as the Second Coming, in the end, it's nothing more than an above average shooter with some cool features going for it. The linear level designed was made to make the game appeal to a broader mass-market crowd and not just hardcore FPS junkies. The fact that it's on a console as opposed to a PC is irrelevant in that respect.

I'm not looking to turn this into some sort of a "ZOMG PC VS CONSOLE WAR!" thread, and I do enjoy reading people's opinions on the subject, but I feel that too many people take the easy route and just lump console players into some sort of "not hardcore enough to hang with the PC crowd" group when that's far from the truth.

I was going to buy a Xbox 360 but when I had a list of games I wanted and realized about 8/10 of them were available on PC I said meh.

PS3=sony...no thanks

Wii's game lineup is the same childish **** gamecube had and I think the controller is overrated. My brother rented "monkey party" and I feel both dumber and gayer having attempted to enjoy it. The controller is innovative, but too many times it doesn't do what I want, when you are going for 'little' it is too sensative and when you are going for 'a lot' it is way too sensative often resulting in not what you wanted it to do.

In short I'm sticking with my computer.

SHOULD I buy a console it would be a Wii. I'm not though.

I have both a PC and a PS3. There is a place for both.

The PC with the mouse provides much more accuracy and speed when it comes to FPS's.

Problem with using a PC to play high end games is the cost of upgrading to be able to play the latest games.

PS3 is more sociable, you can invite friends round for a few drinks and games on the PS3.

The Wii is better - social events, sports and cost

PS3 - only good for Folding

xbox - only good for Halo fans

PC - good for everything else.

You need a PC so the cost is a bit more if you want to play games as well as having a multi functional component in your home. You can easily build a system for $1500 that will play anything on the market, be DX10 ready and Crysis ready as well so the cost is irrelevant.

The Wii? Incredible fun, no other console game can come close to the fantastic, interactive enjoyment of the this little box - especially sports games.

It's a program that utilizes free CPU cycles to help understand how proteins are assembled, or FOLDED. It's usually related to serious diseases and the information is automatically sent to the University. Multiply x number of homes folding x number of proteins and you have a massive powerhouse. Speedguide.net has a Team and you can see my standings in my sig - I just started but the PS3 cell core is very powerful and folds like a demon.

1. Never had it, and I cant say if it's good or bad, my nephew has it and he is loving it, but he is 13 years old, it's console targeted more for kids imo.

2.PS3 is nice, more raw power, titles are coming out but still 360 is the winner.

3.first xbox definately ...360 ...no way, that system has so many great titles it's unbelievable.I like to lie down and play some star trek or gow or nhl with my wireless controller rather then sit on my chair breaking up my back.

4.Agree with you here, but it's expansive, way more expansive.

Different people different opinions :)

I'm a console guy, never had or will have the money for pc gaming. Not even a low end build. Crap my vid card is a radeon 9200 128 not even shader 2.0

So I have used consoles all my life. As far as the controls its second nature for me and as far as accuracy goes its accurate. You just need the hang of it. The 360 analogs are very sensitive. If I could afford the pc, I would probeley do both. I don’t think consoles are meant to be pc killers or even compete, but there's a market for them and they do what there meant for.

If you have the money for pc gaming and are a fps *****. More power to ya. But the 360 is a really tight system. Your also able to use kb and mouse. But with an adapter. 360 and Wii are the best systems out. Why would you buy a ps3? For the "potential" and hype"? Im just messing with you. :P

1- I got the PS3 as a trade for some equipment I had.

2- PS3 powerful for folding, pretty ( reminds me of the Monolith in the movie 2001 Space Odyssey)

3- xbox and PS3 controllers SUCK!
4- WII is the best console game out there
5- I miss my PC and working on my notebook until AMD/ATI get there act together.

The end :D
